Major Events of CCIIP2007

In 2007

In January 2007, the First Session of First Standing Committee Conference of CCIIP was held in Beijing. The 2007 New Year Concert was held in Beijing Poly Theatre in the evening of the Conference, and over 1000 people including Vice Premier Wu Yi, leaders of Ministry of Commerce and other ministries and agencies, representatives from multi-national companies and its members were invited for attendance.

In January 2007, the Fifth Joint Conference of the Federation of Investment Promotion Agencies of China was held in Beijing, and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech.

In February 2007, CCIIP moved to its new office at 4th floor, Jing Guang Center Office Building, Hujialou, Chaoyang District, Beijing.

In March 2007, CCIIP ChinaSourcing Working Committee was established in Beijing, with members composed of outsourcing software parks, enterprises and training institutions. The committee aims at establishing a cooperative system and an integrated image for China’s outsourcing industry, so as to accelerate its development.

In March 2007, CCIIP organized its investment promotion members to attend the World Investment Promotion Agencies Annual Conference, take part in investment promotion training, investigate investment environment and exchange views with investment promotion agencies from many other countries.

During the 11th Investment and Trade Forum for Cooperation between East and West China held in April 2007, the Council together with the Government of Shaanxi Province hosted the Venture Capital and West China Development Forum, which discussed about the opportunities of taking part in Western China Development through business investment, supporting business innovation and development, and promoting project cooperation.

During The Second China (Shenzhen) Investment Matching Fair and 2007 China (Shenzhen) Finance Expo held in April 2007, the Council organized Central China Industrial Transfer Summit in order to promote the transfer of coastal industries to West China.

During Expo Central China 2007 held in April 2007, the Council hosted Central China Business Summit and played a role in signing the logistics project agreement by Sinotrans, ICBC and the six provinces of Central China.

In May 2007, CCIIP organized the Chinese members of China-Brazil Business Council to attend the “Brazilian Port Industry Development Presentation Fair” sponsored by Foreign Ministry of Brazil and ANTAQ in Shanghai.

In May 2007, ChinaSourcing website and its job-hunting information sub-site began their trial operation.

In May 2007, CCIIP held the First Session of the Presidium of the Sixth Joint Conference of the Federation of Investment Promotion Agencies of China in Tianjin and studied and planned the work in 2007. After the meeting, a research trip to Ji County Development Zone of Tianjin was organized.

In May 2007, during the Investment and Trade Expo 2007 Anhui China, CCIIP co-sponsored the Hefei International Outsourcing Seminar.

In June 2007, CCIIP together with Foreign Investors Service Bureau of Wallonia, Belgium hosted the Round Table Conference of Investment in Wallonia, Belgium and organized its members and over 40 people from relevant enterprises to attend the conference.

In June 2007, to explore the opportunities of logistics development, Miao Gengshu, the Director of the Council, led a research team to make investigations about Horgos port, Alashankou port and Urumchi Economic-Technological Development Area in Xinjiang Autonomous Region and offered constructive suggestions.

In July 2007, the Council hosted the 4th International Investment Promotion Forum with “International Regional Economic Cooperation and Businesses Drive Westward” as the theme and passed the Cooperation Declaration by Investment Promotion Agencies of East, Central and West China.

In July 2007, the Council organized its members and experts to take part in the Friendly Cooperation and Gansu’s Development Forum during 14th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair and exchange views with relevant enterprises in West China on the issue of promoting the development of energy conservation and pollution reduction industry.

In July 2007, during the International Investment Forum 2007, the committee held a symposium between outsourcing demonstration parks and TPI Corporation of the USA.

In July 2007, CCIIP signed a contract with the Ministry of Commerce and Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone for supporting Tianjin as the demonstration training center of China’s outsourcing services.

In August 2007, CCIIP co-sponsored with State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, in holding a special training course for the outsourcing services of stated-owned large enterprises.

In August 2007, the Council organized the representatives from multi-national companies, business investment organizations, famous Chinese enterprises, industrial and commercial communities of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and investment promotion organizations, and experts and scholars to attend the First Huhhot Investment Opportunity Forum and explore the investment environment and opportunities in Inner Mongolia.

In September 2007, CCIIP helped organize enterprises to attend the “Chile--A Bridge between China and Latin America” Seminar hosted by the Chilean Embassy in China and Chile Foreign Investment Committee.

In September 2007, during the 11th China International Fair for Investment and Trade, cosponsoring with Gartner, Inc., the ChinaSourcing Working Committee hold the China’s Outsourcing Services Development Seminar. Together with the Brazilian Committee of China-Brazil Business Council, the committee sponsored China-Brazil Economic and Trade Cooperation Seminar, 2007 Annual Conference of China-Brazil Business Council and China-Brazil Business Council Exhibition.

In September 2007, during the 11th China International Fair for Investment and Trade held in Xiamen, ChinaSourcing.Mofcom.Gov.Cn was officially opened. Ma Xiuhong, vice minister of the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a speech in the opening ceremony and started the website.

In September 2007, the committee held the International Outsourcing Services Symposium in Taicang, Jiangsu Province.

In September 2007, CCIIP co-sponsored with Jiangsu Provincial People‘s Government in holding the China (Jiangsu) International Outsourcing Service Talent Training Workshop.

In September 2007, CCIIP organized its members to take part in the China tour and exchange activities of the delegation of the Department of Economic Development, Quebec, Canada organized by Canada-China Business Council.

During the “Going Global” Seminar in Lijiang, Yunnan Province held in October 2007, CCIIP held the Second Session of the Presidium of the Sixth Federation of Investment Promotion Agencies of China and discussed the work plan of 2008.

In October 2007, in cooperation with BeyondSoft Group, CCIIP published the magazine “IT Outsourcing Services.”

From October to December 2007, CCIIP worked together with Accenture Ltd. in writing the report “Outsourcing Service Market Study- China and the World.”

In November 2007, Investment and Finance Committee of CCIIP (CIFC) was set up in Beijing. Its members include many business investment funds, private equity funds, and investment banks related to foreign firms, and specialized investment service organizations. CIFC aims to reorganize domestic and international investment and finance resources build up a bridge between government agencies, investment promotion organizations, enterprises and investors and make contributions to investment promotion.

In November 2007, the new edition of ChinaSourcing website is officially used. Among the 24 special websites built up by the Ministry of Commerce, this website keeps ranking up.

In November 2007, the first issue of electronic journal “China Outsourcing Briefing” was published.

In December 2007, the English and Japanese editions of ChinaSourcing website began their trial operation.

In December 2007, according to the need of the members, the specially designed “Online Membership Management System” began its trial operation in the website of CCIIP.

In 2007, CCIIP made plans for 9 large investment promotion activities for local government, organized 43 activities of leaders’ visit, field research, external liaison and agenda arrangement, provided 13 investment promotion activities held by foreign business organizations and investment promotion agencies to its members, provided 15 investment and trade opportunities for enterprises and liaison and communication activities between enterprises and governmental agencies, and held 8 member-oriented symposiums.

In 2007, the number of the members of CCIIP kept growing from 137 at the foundation of the Council to 252 now. Its secondary branch organizations increased from 3 to 5. And Service Outsourcing Committee and Investment and Finance Committee of CCIIP were set up.

CCIIP received the principals of many overseas investment promotion organizations such as Japan External Trade Organization, Brussels Enterprise Agency, and officials in charge of economic development from Brazilian and Chilean embassies, and discussed with them about how to enhance communication and mutual understanding and how to help Chinese enterprises “Going Global”.

CCIIP organized business tours to Ireland, India, Singapore and Philippines, outsourcing business attracting activities in Japan and participated in the service outsourcing summit in the USA.

CCIIP received the business tours from GlaxoSmithKline Inc., Bank of America Corp., Safesoft International and other foreign companies, and successfully made GSK directly purchasing outsourcing service from China for the first time.

Cooperating with BSI, CCIIP provided China’s outsourcing enterprises with standard and systematical training, BS7799/ISO27001 Information Security Management Systems and ISO20000  IT Service Management System authorization, and other relevant services.

Cooperating with Gartner, Inc., the council made preparation for the 2008 China International Outsourcing & Trade Exposition.
