In 2006
On Jan. 17, 2006, approved by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, China Asia-Pacific Association for Promoting Economic and Trade Cooperation was renamed as China Council for International Investment Promotion (CCIIP).
In April 2006, Ma Xiuhong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce convened the preparatory meeting of CCIIP, during which the preparatory working plan was passed, the preparatory working team was set up, and on the basis of the Federation of Investment Promotion Agencies of China, China-Brazil Business Council and China-Chile Business Council, the CCIIP would be founded.
On Jul. 25, 2006, the Inaugural Meeting of CCIIP was held. Vice Premier Wu Yi sent congratulation letter, Ma Xiuhong, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce was present, and the president of Sinotrans, Miao Gengshu was elected as the chairperson of the council.
In July 2006, under the theme “Developing Outsourcing Services, Promoting Information Industries”, the 3rd International Investment Promotion Forum was held in Chengdu. In the forum, the Ministry of Commerce announced their determination of developing Outsourcing Industries in China.
In September 2006, CCIIP sponsored the “WAIPA Round Table Conference” during the 10th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) to promote the communication among investment promotion agencies of different countries.
In September 2006, CCIIP organized Central China Business Summit during the Expo Central China 2006.
Website ChinaSourcing.Mofcom.Gov.Cn (with Chinese, English and Japanese editions and a job-hunting information sub-site) project was approved by the Ministry of Commerce at the end of 2006, and formally started at the beginning of 2007.
