At the Reception Party, held by the Pakistan Embassy in China on April 12, 2012, that celebrates the 72th anniversary of the founding of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Pakistani ambassador Mohammad Masood Khan, under the Pakistani President’s authorization, conferred the Pakistani highest honor for foreign citizens- the “Sitara-i-Quaid-e-Azam Award- to CCIIP’s deputy secretary general Mr. Yuan Jianmin.
Mr. Yuan, deputy secretary general of CCIIP, director of CCIIP’s Xinjiang Liaison Office, and executive director and president of Sinotrans&CSC Xinjiang Co., Ltd, has lived on the Pak-China border for 37years. During his stay there, Mr. Yuan has attended meetings between Chinese and Pakistani local government officials, participated in resurveying the Pak-China borders and China-Pakistan border avalanche Rescue, served the delivery of goods and materials to Afghanistan refugee and victims of the Pakistan earthquake, and has promoted the combined transport among China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and Kirghizstan. Mr. Yuan and his company also established the Sust dry port in Pakistan during 2003-2004, which has facilitated the Pak-China trade and has contributed to the development of local economy as well as to the creation of local jobs. To help improve the livelihood of people that reside in the mountain areas in north Pakistan, Mr. Yuan and his company have donated such equipments as solar generators, computers and tractors to those areas.
For his contributions to bilateral trade and friendship between China and Pakistan, President of Pakistan signed the determination to confer the “Sitara-i-Quaid-e-Azam Award” to Mr. Yuan Jianmin. The Award is the highest honor the Pakistani president confers to foreign citizens who have made outstanding contributions to Pakistan.
